Puppik Playground
Puppik Playground: The aim is to explore, develop, experiement with a series of accessible dance improvisation resources to encourage creativity in young dancers and equipment dance teachers and workshop leaders to do this as creatively as possible.
Puppik Playground resources will include:

What is the Game?
What is the Game aims to promote play, creativity, and coming together to set the tone for a vibrant and social dance experience.
What do games do? They:
- Bring dancers together
- Set the tone
- Ensure that dance is fun
- Get dancers in the space
- Get dancers thinking, problem solving
- Spark interest
- Introduce a topic or idea
- Invigorates and involves the dancers immediately
Then the dancers are thinking, solving, interacting, exploring, moving, learning through play and having fun.
Improvisation Tools
Using exploration with Improvisational tools can give focus to the object and aim allowing dancers to feel less self concious and start moving in creative new ways. Using the SCARFS method of training.
Movement Mode
Movement modes are improvisational movement strategies for responding to creative dance tasks allowing dancers a know quality they can draw on when responding.
Creative Tasks
Improvisation as a tool for choreography. Improvisation is spontaneously creating movement where dancers are inventing the movement as they do it.
In other words, dancers Play:
P – Portray – Express through movement
L – Let go – Release judgement and control
A – Awareness
– Notice what is happening and respond
Y – Your voice – Dance in your own way
P-Portray
Express an idea, feeling, or image through improvised movement.
L – Let go
Being open, responsive and yielding allowing movement, ideas, music, or other dancers to influence you. Letting go of control at times and allowing the body to follow new impulses.
A – Awareness
Understanding your body, the space around you, and the choices you are making in movement. Being fully in the moment with your body, movement, music, and space.
Y- Your Voice
Understanding your body, the space around you, and the choices you are making in movement. Expressing your personal movement style and artistic identity.
